Today, we are here with a Developer Note to share our thoughts and discuss with our hunters regarding the details announced through the previous livestream that was broadcasted on 9/9 (Mon).
About Concept of Hunters and Double Rate Up
We've seen many comments from hunters regarding the character design, concept, and performance that you expect from the game. Especially around the time of the livestream, your feedback made us realize that our preparations were insufficient, and it gave us a lot to think about.
We believed that hunters with a fresh concept would help refresh the game's atmosphere, but the result did not align with the expectations of our hunters. For the characters that will be introduced in the future, we will carefully prepare them to not only fit the theme of Solo Leveling but also meet the standards of satisfaction that our hunters expect.
We've also heard feedback from our hunters that the opening timing of the announced rate up feels too close.
Charlotte and Harper are twin sisters, deeply connected within the story. They share a common experience and work through the same events together, which is why we wanted to present their intertwined stories to you. This led to the decision to release both characters within a short timeframe.
Through the Rate Up Draw, Harper’s rate up will start on 9/12 (Thu) and last for four weeks and Charlotte’s rate up will start on 9/19 (Thu) and last for three weeks. We had thoroughly discussed the double rate up in advance, and since we expected that it might feel burdensome, we extended the rate up period compared to previous rate ups. Additionally, we planned to distribute Rate Up Draw Tickets through events, hoping this would help ease the burden for our Hunters.
However, we still completely understand the remaining burden of our hunters due to the double rate up. Therefore, we will be distributing Essence Stones in the check-in event that will be starting from 9/19 (Thu) to alleviate the burden.
About Forced Rate Up
Other than the characters’ design of the upcoming rate up, we assume that our huntres are also anxious of the forced draw. We do not aim to force the use of new hunters exclusively in top-tier content. Therefore, we will structure the content in a way that allows the use of various hunters by introducing additional attribute weaknesses and thoroughly testing the internal balance of top-tier content. As fellow players, we also do not welcome situations where only specific hunters are mandatory. Rest assured, you don't need to worry that you won't be able to play content without the rate up characters.
About Skill Rune Balance
Our guiding principle in managing the game is to avoid nerfing the balance that hunters are currently experiencing. We believe that hunters have noticed our commitment to this principle through previous buffs, including those to characters like Seo Jiwoo. Nerfing characters would turn the satisfaction you’ve experienced into disappointment, which is why we aim to maintain this operational philosophy moving forward.
As for Sonic Stream-Magnifying Slashes, however, we had to go through a lot of consideration and discussion because too much damage was dealt upon activation under certain circumstances.
After careful discussion, we have concluded to buff other Runes to the equivalent level of the current Magnifying Slashes for other Runes to also be selected by our hunters.
We have previously revealed the details regarding the buffs and have prepared balance adjustment measures to increase the type of buff receiving Runes and buffing them to the equivalent level of the current Magnifying Slashes performance through the 9/12 (Thu) update.

Conclusion
We have already passed 100 days and are in the fifth month since the grand launch on 5/8 (Wed). As we’ve been racing forward, we regret that there have been frequent oversights in the details. Our greatest reward as developers is seeing Hunters enjoy the game. We are committed to turning your constructive criticism into praise through our continuous improvements.
Other than the Essence Stones check-in rewards we promised above, not to disrupt the efforts of hunters who have acquired the Magnifying Slashes with the Rune buff news, we are preparing Heroic Rune Skill Selection Chest Vol. 2 for our hunters to claim at the update period. Although it is a small gift, we hope that hunters can experience various buffed Runes through the chest. Please stay tuned for the upcoming update.
